MAIL RUN & JET BOAT BRIDGE TO NOWHERE

We offer daily transport and connections to the Jet Boats going to the Bridge to Nowhere.

We leave 7.00am in the morning from your accommodation, we will deliver the mail on the way and stop for morning tea before we connect with the Jet Boat Company at 10.00am. As soon as everyone arrived and is booked in, the Jet Boat operator will explain the safety rules and you will be leaving for a great adventure to the Bridge to Nowhere.

Remember to bring lunch and a drink, hats, sunscreen and your cameras. We will wait for you at the depot and leave from Pipiriki at about 3pm back to Whanganui arriving at you accommodation roundabout 4.30pm. Or stay the night either at Pipiriki or Jerusalem and be collected the next day. Or add a bike hire and cycle to your accommodation.

MAIL RUN & JET BOAT TO JERUSALEM

Join Whanganui River local’s on the Mail Run and Jetboat while enjoying the scenic river surrounds, historical sites, including Jerusalem Convent and Kawana Flour Mill, stopping for morning tea prepared by our local hosts, learning stories of Mother Aubert, James K Baxter and local Maori People.

Then board the jet boat with Whanganui Scenic Experience for the 26km downstream immersing yourself with the beauty and serenity of the lower reaches while enduring the Spiritual being of The Whanganui River.

MOUNTAIN TO SEA CYCLE TRAIL – Section 5

(Nga Ara Tuhoni)

Following the Whanganui River as it flows towards the sea. this peaceful road blends sublime scenery with a series of delightful heritage sites – both Maori and European.

Starting at Pipiriki – a gateway to the Whanganui National Park – this long but leisurely ride undulates through small settlements perched high above the mighty river. A beautiful marae, notable church and convent, charming old flour mill, and other special sights tell their stories.

Grade 3 – (Intermediate) 7-8 hours. We can provide bike hire, accommodation, food and luggage transfers.

MAIL RUN

Experience our unique Mail Run on the beautiful Whanganui River Road.

Rich in history and culture, you will learn about the local Iwi (tribe) Te Awa Tupua – their River of Sacred Power and why the River was vitally important for transport, food and spiritual wellbeing for local Maori.

Hear stories of the early settlers and the paddle steamers that plied the river, deep into the interior of the Whanganui. We will stop along the way for morning tea while visiting places of interest.

$75 including morning tea. Approximately 6 hours.
